If you are from a country where English is the defacto or official language, and you don't see a flag for your country on the home page, the reason is that by my estimates, there are little or no residents from that country in Göttingen, so for resource reasons I have not targetted your country. This has nothing to do with the intrinsic value of your country. As a child, I lived with someone Trinidad and Tobago and love the music from this land, but I probably can't expect much business from a country that as of 2007 had only two citizens living in Göttingen (though if I ever find and meet them, I will love to hear about their country).
While the Hometown Soul Cafe is focused on providing a bit of home for people from countries where English is an official or defacto language, we recognize that sharing this with their friends and family, who may not be from these lands, is important also.
We also recognize that English is rapidly becoming a global language and that you may wish to visit us to practice the English you learned as a foreign language in school. Please keep in mind that are resources are limited, so we probably won't have foods/entertainment native to non-English speaking countries (though if you wish to replicate this business concept for other languages/countries, feel free to contact the owner).
Lastly, while speaking a foreign language can be taxing, and you may want to occasionally switch to your native tongue while conversing with your multilingual friends, please try not to let the other languages dominate. The cafe is a special place here in Göttingen and the patrons may have few opportunities to emerge themselves in the English experience they miss from home. Thank you for your understanding.
