Though this is tangential to the cafe's focus the founder's first major in college was saxophone (studying classical with Fred Hemke and jazz with Randy Russell) and he will continue to occasionally give private lessons. Though this is clearly apart from the cafe's focus, the founder spent two decades as a professional software engineer, learning from some of the world's best and transferring that knowledge in courses and publications.
